I Jumped in on the NFT Craze!

So I’ve been wanting to get in on the NFT craze that’s going on. Yesterday I was watching one of my favorite podcasts the H3H3 Podcast, when Ethan mentioned they put up some NFTs! I quickly paused the podcast and clicked on the link. I would have loved to place a bid on the Vape Nation God NFT however, I know this one will go for a really high price outside of my realm. Actually I might place a bid on it, if it doesn’t go much higher than it’s currently sitting at (1.269 eth at the time of writing this post). I did however purchase two of the other 1 of 5 NFTs. I also bought a bitbird.

So this inspired me to put up my own NFTs. Back around 2010, There was an initiative in Montreal to get Celebrities to paint old parking meters to make them attractive in order to catch people’s eye. Any money deposited in them would help the homeless. They had a map of the location of all these parking meters, so I went around the city and took pictures of all of them. There were supposed to be 70, however not all of them were actually installed. So I thought this would be a cool NFT Collection.

The first one I put up for sale is my favorite one I took. I called it Death By Paint. I also have this picture blown up and hanging on top of my couch.

LG 38WN95C-W Release Date

I recently was researching screens for a new PC, and after a few days of researching I picked the LG 38WN95C-W. I liked the ultra wide aspect ratio, 144hz refresh rate for gaming, Thunderbolt 3, fast response time, and higher resolution (3840×1600) than the other monitors in same size/similar aspect ratio. However this monitor is not out yet. I saw no release date, so I went to twitter. Some others had asked LG in their countries, but no reply. This morning LG Canada replied to me with a June 7th 2020 Release Date.

Update: The Release Date has been changed to second week of July. Customers in the States have already started to receive their monitors.

Why all Tesla Model S owners should Dip their car

Photo 2015-07-02, 9 18 43 PM

I’ve had my Tesla Model S for a little over 2 months now. It’s the coolest thing on 4 wheels and with the TreadHunter rubber, it just melts everything. I’ve also Dipped (Plasti Dip) it. It made my car super unique and it get’s a lot of stares and garners a lot of conversation about the car. This is great for multiple reasons:

1. I get to meet interesting people.

2. I get to share the car with others.

3. I get to educate people about the car. (I don’t mean this in a derogatory manner)

4. Protects your paint.

5. Gives you a unique look.

The third reason is why I think everyone should Dip (or wrap if they fancy that) their Model S. Why, you ask? I’ve found that  most people think it’s just another nice fancy car like a Maserati, or an Aston Martin. I’ve also heard a lot of “Oh this is a Tesla? I’ve never seen one in person!”. My response is “You’ve probably see a lot, there’s many in Toronto, you just weren’t looking for one.”.

The majority of people don’t know the real value proposition of the Model S as most people I’ve talked to thought it was a hybrid, or just a normal car.The thing that gets them interested more in talking is when I pop the Frunk. Most people are in awe when I do that (and I admit I do it on purpose haha), others assume the engine is in the back like a Ferrari, or Lamborghini and that’s when I show them the practicality of two trunks. I’ve found that it’s been true before Tesla came a long that electric cars were a sacrifice, but no longer and I think it’s our job as owners to spread the word and Dipping my car has done that better than anything ever could as people come to you to start a conversation.

So if all Tesla owners dipped their cars, and made them stand out, this could lead to more interest and purchases. This might sound stupid, but that’s information I’ve gathered from my observations after I’ve dipped the car.

Ottawa Earthquake

Today I received a phone call from my friend Samer in Toronto. He asked me “Did you feel it?”. I had no clue what he was talking about and he quickly told me there was an earthquake. I was in the shower when it happened and did not feel anything. It’s funny though because a lot of my friends here in Montreal did feel it. The epicenter of the quake was near Ottawa, and reports have shown that it was also felt in Toronto, Montreal, and even Buffalo New York. At first some people thought it might be a terrorist act because the G20 summit that is scheduled to take place in Toronto on the 26th and 27th of June. The G20 summit will host the twenty most powerful leaders this weekend.

Montreal Grand Prix 2010 Pictures

Yeah this post is a couple of weeks late, but better late than never. Here are some pictures I snapped while walking around downtown during the Grand Prix Weekend. I’m one of the people that was thrilled to have the Grand Prix return after such a long departure. Montreal really takes shape from this one event, it’s truly great we have it back. My pictures might not have been so great, but I really enjoyed the first picture. The car below is the Roadster Sport, It is manufactured by company called Tesla in California. You might think “So, what?”. The what about this car is that is fully electric and can run around for 244 miles (393 kilometers) on a single charge! They brought it so they can market it, (of course) but the interesting thing is, since we get cheap electricity in Quebec, it only costs about $1.80 to fully charge this car! Enjoy the pictures!

Diesel Canada’s Terrible Customer Service

Today I received a call from the Diesel store in Montreal. It was concerning the pants I wanted them to replace. I wore these pants only three or four times maximum and every time I washed them a large hole would appear. Their decision was that they would not replace the pants. I understand a lot of people try to screw companies over by playing this card, however I was being honest. Since there is no way that the Diesel Rep Kerry could be certain of this let us assume I was lying and I wore them everyday that I owned them. At this point I don’t care about the money or replacement pants, however I care about being treated with respect. I dropped off the pants to the Diesel store in April, we are now in July which means I waited three patient months to hear “No” as a reply. If I don’t get treated with respect then what is  the point of doing business with a company or person for that matter that just wants your money? I suggest that Diesel Canada work harder and much faster to fix their Customer Care problems. As of now I will try not to buy Diesel products, not because their product Quality is bad (Actually I feel Diesel has the best Quality and lasting Jeans) but because I feel it doesn’t take three months to look at a pair of pants to decide that they won’t pay up.  <humor>If they launched a forensic investigation it wouldn’t have taken this long!</humor>

Pedal for Kids

Today I was doing a bit of shopping when I saw police closing streets, I knew something was going on. I took out my camera and started to record. It turned out to be the Pedal for Kids (Pedalez pour les enfants in French) Charity Bike run. They donate money to sick kids in the Montreal Children’s Hospital. Check out the website here (today was the last day of the run)
