Today I finally got around to starting and completing the Windows 7 turtle puzzle. This puzzle came with the Windows 7 house party pack that I received back in late 2009. It was fun, and makes me think I should take up puzzles as a hobby!
Yes, I realize that might sound stupid, but it’s a great activity.
While walking home today I noticed this shop front. As you can see someone has really held on to their childhood mischief. The funny thing is that a few weeks ago “cock” was only there, and today when I saw “fart” it really made me chuckle!
Hey everyone so Toronto’s band Temple of Life, were in a battle of the bands competition at Le National in Montreal, and came in third place. They will be competing in the final sometime in January or February 2010. Check out their set at Le National Below.
I wanted to get a webcam for my parent’s mac mini and was originally going to get them the same one that I had, (Logitech QuickCam Vision Pro) however I noticed at the Apple Store in Montreal that there was another HD webcam for $50 less. I decided to give it a try since the specs, and packaging looked promising. I had also looked at reviews online before purchasing it and they said it was good, only one compared it to the Logitech and said the Logitech was superior. I found that the video is nothing like the Logitech and also the audio is quite low compared to the Logitech (with all the same settings). Since I could not find any video or photo comparison I have snapped a some pics and recorded some video from photo booth to demonstrate the difference. Hope you enjoy it.

I have not bought an app from the App Store in a while, so a couple of days ago I felt like looking at what new apps were available. I found Scanner 911 in the most popular apps, and read the description. What does it do? It lets you listen in on Police, Fire, and EMS radio channels in USA and Canada. It only costs 99 cents and is quite entertaining and impressive. You can purchase it on the iTunes App Store.
I’ve been living in Montreal for about 3 years now, and I’ve seen a woman that always drives a (left hand) London cab. Today I actually had time to snap a picture! I would really like to know the story behind this lady and her cab!
When I updated my Mac Pro to Snow Leopard, I selected the case sensitive filesystem. I could not install Adobe CS because it requires a non case sensitive file system. I was really annoyed by that but I’m sure Adobe has their reasons. I also found that the client my University uses for email (FirstClass) would not work. At first I did not think it was because of the case sensitive issue. Today I found out after tinkering around that it was indeed because of this. I figured out that you must edit the home.fc file in “/Users/YOURUSERNAME/Library/firstclass/settings/”. To edit it just open the file in TextEdit, or any text editing program you use, and on line 10 just edit the file extension from .FCP to fcp. Make sure to do this before you save your username and password, because the contents of the file will change and it will then be on line 2401. I am going to contact FirstClass and let them know about it hopefully they will fix this minor bug.
So Google has released a working version of Chromium Os. It is just in the begining phases of development so there’s not much there, and it’s quite slow. Nonetheless I wanted to try it. The way posted on the chromium site, is for Linux geeks, and since I’m not great with Linux, I found there was a way around that. There is a VMware image on gdgt.com, however I am running Parallels 5. I ran a Google search, and found a site that explained step by step how to get it running on Parallels 5. Click Here to visit the tutorial.
Finally here is a picture of me running Chromium OS in Parallels 5.
I don’t play much ps3, but when I do I play Call of Duty: World At War. Today I was notified that there was an update which I installed. I was hoping that this would fix the connection issues in zombies mode. Not only did it fix them, but the levels are much longer now. And aiming is much harder or maybe that’s a glitch. Now I am thinking should I get Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2?
A couple of days ago I saw many funny videos created by a group Called Improv Everywhere, thanks to a reddit link. I decided to share these on my blog, enjoy!
